Non-Clinical Coaching:
Non-Clinical Coaching, is goal-oriented and future-focused. Coaches work with individuals who do not have mental health issues but are seeking personal development, career advancement, or improvement in specific areas of life (e.g., performance, relationships, confidence).
Non-clinical coaching does not involve diagnosing or treating mental health conditions and it not covered by medical insurance.
It emphasizes self-improvement and achieving personal or professional goals through guidance, support, and motivation. Coaches are not required to be licensed professionals in the mental health field.
Clinical Counseling:
This is a therapeutic practice conducted by licensed mental health professionals (e.g., therapists, psychologists, social workers) who work with individuals experiencing mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, or mood disorders.
Clinical counseling involves diagnosing, treating, and managing psychological disorders, and it requires formal education, clinical training, and state licensure and is covered by medical insurance.
It is grounded in evidence-based practices and is aimed at helping individuals heal and cope with emotional and psychological challenges.
